The lightweight Life Preserver Vest, USN MK-1 Flight Deck is flame resistant, breathable and comfortable for extended periods. Its design allows a full range of motion that doesn't restrict the wearer when performing tasks.

Bright silver reflective tape on the shoulders and back improves wearer visibility, and an emergency light may be attached to the Velcro® patch above the pocket. The bladder uses tear-resistant RF (radio frequency) welded polyurethane-coated nylon. This vest is available in various colours to denote the wearer's onboard duties per the US Navy's identification requirements. Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) approves it for use on US Navy ships as flight deck life preservers/identifiers, and it meets all the US Navy's MK-1 Flight Deck Vest CID requirements and is authorized to be procured and used as such.
