North American Manufacturing

To ensure that level of reliability, we manufacture our dry suits in North America, where we maintain strict quality control, meet compliance standards like Berry compliance, and can quickly respond to demand. Every suit—whether new or repaired—is rigorously leak tested before leaving our facilities, guaranteeing the highest standards of performance in the field.

At our Jacksonville manufacturing facility, this commitment to quality comes to life. As the hub of innovation for our Sentinel™ Series Dry Suits, its where advanced materials, expert craftsmanship, and precision engineering come together to create gear trusted by military, public safety, and rescue professionals operating in the most demanding environments.

Mil Spec 6.5 GORE-TEX Fabric

Our commitment to quality doesn’t stop at manufacturing—it extends to the materials and technologies we use. With decades of experience outfitting military, Coast Guard, and water rescue professionals, we combine expert craftsmanship with military-grade fabrics to create dry suits that deliver unmatched waterproofness, breathability, and durability in the field.

We have been building leading dry solutions for military, coast guard, and water rescue professionals for decades This expertise, military-grade fabrics, and a focus on maximizing waterproofness, breathability, and durability have allowed us to build the world’s driest and toughest performance outerwear.

All our military, Coast Guard, and public safety products use Mil Spec 6.5 with GORE-TEX. The fabric has a weight of 220 gsm, a durable 70D nylon face with high abrasion, salt water and UV resistance, and a nylon tricot backer that provides additional robustness and a comfortable next-to-skin feel.

With years of validation in the field, we design products to meet the highest demands of professionals who require the utmost protection in the harshest marine environments. By working closely with the GORE-TEX brand as manufacturing partners, we integrate its advanced technologies into our dry suits, ensuring that each product meets the highest standards of performance. GORE-TEX tests its fabrics, membranes, insulation, and linings to ensure quality before we begin our design and testing processes in the water life studio.

Mobility Based Sizing

For a Superior Fit

A well-fitting dry suit is essential for both performance and comfort. That’s why our Sentinel™ Series Dry Suits feature Mobility Based Sizing, a system designed to provide a semi-custom fit without the high cost or long lead times of full customization.

Developed using data from 2,500 body scans, this innovative sizing approach optimizes range of motion, reduces bulk, and ensures a secure, comfortable fit for professionals operating in demanding environments. With 25 size options, including expanded fit variations, we make sure that every operator can find a suit that moves with them—so they can focus on the mission, not their gear.

Dry Suit Testing

We focus on the details that matter—thoughtful design, material selection, construction protocols, and rigorous product testing. Our build and material standards, along with our commitment to durability and performance, are best in class, ensuring that users remain comfortable, even during long hours in the suit. With years of experience in public safety, commercial, military, and recreational applications, Mustang Survival has earned the trust of professionals who rely on our expertise in creating the most dependable dry suits on the market.

One hundred percent of the suits that leave the factory are thoroughly leak tested using pneumatic air pressure and must have zero leaks. Other dry suits in the marketplace have not been put through these same testing procedures and have failed to perform at the same level. These dry suits are a strong, sleek expression of our clean and consistent design DNA. They deliver function and performance through purposeful design and features that are thoughtfully integrated without overbuilding.

All Mustang Survival Dry Suits are:

  • 100% Leak proof when leaving the facility
  • Produced in North America
  • Equipped with Rapid Repair Technology for in-field repairs

Field Pre-Production Testing

What sets us apart is our commitment to rigorous testing and user-driven design—we only introduce new products after:

  1. Meeting with users to determine their needs
  2. Field test all new product concepts to validate design & mission viability for an average of 12 months before introduction to the market

At Mustang Survival, our commitment to thorough testing and user-driven design doesn’t end with product development. We continue to explore and validate every aspect of our gear, ensuring it meets real-world needs and performs under the toughest conditions.

A Visibility Study

One such validation comes from our On-Water Visibility study, conducted by Mustang Survival and sponsored in part by WorkSafeBC’s Research Secretariat program. The study found that fluorescent green immersion suits consistently outperform standard oranges, reds, and yellows in terms of visual detection in water—especially in low-light conditions.

Lead researcher Wendell Uglene, Research Manager for Mustang Survival, says he conducted the study “to find which color was most conspicuous when floating on the water because we simply didn’t know.”

WorkSafeBC Research Secretariat director suggests this study might prove useful in the eventual adoption of international standards for safety equipment.

The findings from our On-Water Visibility study not only reinforce our commitment to innovation, but also highlight the importance of choosing the right safety gear to ensure the highest level of protection in real-world conditions.

Thermal Management For First Responders

While visibility is a critical factor in safety, there are other equally important elements to consider in mission success, particularly when working in challenging water environments. Factors such as team training, environmental conditions, and the effectiveness of personal protective equipment (PPE) can significantly impact performance. We continue to enhance comfort and safety through advanced thermal management solutions, ensuring operators remain focused and capable in the most demanding conditions. Building on years of experience with elite special operations personnel, we’ve developed breathable PPE systems designed for long-term wear and comfort, now complemented by a complete four-season thermal management system integrated with our waterproof breathable dry suits.

Key benefits include:

  • Wicking control: Optimal moisture propagation critical to breathable garment systems
  • Versatility: Modular and scalable depending on conditions and mission profile
  • Best-in-class comfort: Carefully designed with performance in mind

Key to developing systems for a multi-climate environment is the ability to provide this thermal management and breathability to wick moisture away from the operator’s body. For the system to work the moisture has to stay a water vapor (gas) and not become a water molecule (liquid). The key in any wicking system is to always have a form-fitting next-to-skin wicking garment that doesn’t allow air pockets to form between the surface of your skin and the next-to-skin item. Additionally, all components within the system must be wicking. When the moisture comes out of your skin it is in a vapor state and is then transformed into water molecules on your skin’s surface. Those water molecules are the liquid beaded sweat which drips down your face. A wicking system cannot transfer water molecules, only water vapor. Water molecules will overload the system.

This advanced moisture-wicking technology is just one example of how we integrate cutting-edge solutions to ensure optimal performance in demanding environments. By continuously refining our systems, we help operators maintain comfort and focus in even the most extreme conditions.
